Position Description: The Director of Early Childhood Education provides visionary leadership, coordination, and oversight of all early childhood education programs within the Lafayette School Corporation. This includes developmental preschool services and general education preschool programming for children ages three through five, both with and without disabilities. The Director ensures high-quality instructional programming, compliance with federal and state regulations, effective staff supervision, and strong family and community partnerships. This role promotes inclusive practices, early intervention, and Kindergarten readiness while aligning program goals with district strategic priorities. The Director serves as the district’s primary leader and advocate for early childhood services and collaborates with administrators, educators, families, and community agencies to provide equitable and developmentally appropriate learning opportunities for young children.
